All matboard is cut on our refurbished 1948 Seybold paper cutter. These mechanical, heavy, gear-operated machines were once the standard in the domestic bookbinding industry, but are now often scrapped in favor of larger, computer-controlled, hydraulic cutters. We believe that these relics of the industrial age have a certain elegance that modern machines lack, and we went through extensive efforts to find a suitable one.

ARTCARE ALPHARAG MATBOARD

Artcare Alpharag is a 100% virgin cotton, lignin-free matboard that incorporates Microchamber technology with zeolite molecular to absorb harmful pre-acidic airborne pollutants, such as nitrogen peroxide, before they can harm your artwork.

ARTCARE ARCHIVAL FOAM CORE

The only foam core that is truly archival. Other foamboards offer an archival surface, while the foam itself gives off gases that can fade, damage, and deteriorate your artwork. Artcare, with its MicroChamber®technology, absorbs and neutralizes those harmful gases and protects the art well into the future. Available in White 100% cotton rag surface in 3/16-inch thickness.

CUSTOM-CUT OVERMATS

Our custom mat cutting services offer consistent, high-quality overmats, whether you need one mat or several thousand. We use the Esterly Spirit 4060S computer-controlled mat cutter to ensure perfect overmats every time.
