Brett Weston’s fourth portfolio, Fifteen Photographs is the first not tangibly “located” in place or time as is San Francisco, White Sands, and New York; rather, it is, in effect, a retrospective exhibition because Weston selected the photographs from his entire oeuvre going back to 1934, when he was just twenty-three.

The fifteen pictures include macrocosmic landscapes with recognizable deep space and horizons, microcosmic landscapes, or “elegant bits” of nature, as Brett was fond of calling them, and man-made subjects that are usually close-ups. This portfolio also contains a number of renditions of virtually flat subjects that can rightly be called abstractions.

These books have been published in both hardbound and softbound editions.

The Softbound Edition is published in an edition of only 1,000 copies. The books in the softbound edition are available individually or by subscription to the entire series. For non-subscribers the price ranges from $54.95 to $69.95, depending on the number of pages in each book. Each book is priced at only $50 by subscription to the entire series, starting with Volume 1, with each book in the series charged and shipped every three months.

Note to current subscribers: Volume 11, Vintage Collection No. 1, is currently in production and is scheduled for printing in early 2014.

The Hardbound Edition is published in an edition of only 250 numbered copies. This edition is available only to subscribers to the entire series. Each hardbound book is numbered and sells for $135. Originally we announced a hardbound edition of just 100 numbered copies. It quickly sold out. Because of our high production costs, in order to continue publishing these books, we produced a second printing of 150 numbered copies. At this time there are fewer than ten subscriptions for the hardbound edition remaining.
